Double Glazing Building Regulations Oxford

When buying anything of value you’ll want to make sure that you’re getting what you’re paying for. It doesn’t matter whether it is a new / used car, an engagement ring or furniture for your property, it makes sense to do a bit of research, examine the product and make sure that you’re happy with what you’re buying. When it comes to double glazing Oxford the checks you do shouldn’t be any different, especially now that the new building regulations have came into effect.

On October 1st 2010, the new, amended and improved building regulations, which affect the quality of windows that can be sold and installed in properties throughout the UK, came into play. Fortunately here at Radley Windows all the products we sell comply with these regulations.

So what do the new regulations mean?

When you look closely at the detail surrounding the regulations surrounding double glazing Oxford it becomes clear that there isn’t a great deal that has changed, it’s just that the regulations have got tighter.

Whilst windows are categorised using a Window Energy Rating (WER) from A to E in terms of their energy efficiency, as of October 1st 2010 all window installers and providers are only legally able to provide customers with windows that are WER graded C or above.

How can customers make sure the windows they buy comply?

If you’re in the process of looking for new double glazing windows, there are a few things which here at Radley Windows, we would recommend that you look for in a window supplier. Firstly, we would recommend you look for products which are British Fenestration Ratings Council approved.

We would also recommend that you look for an installer who is FENSA regulated, as this helps to guarantee the windows fitted will be installed correctly. When buying windows from us, you can guarantee that our double glazing Oxford windows are, and that they all meet the new regulations.
